Advancer Kilobatch provides up to 12 hours unattended processing of homogenous reaction mixtures delivering kilogram quantities of your target compound. In addition, the system will accommodate heterogeneous reactions by processing four sequential cycles (250 mL) to yield a 1 L batch. Through simple solid loading replenishment, kilogram quantities of complex heterogeneous reactions are easily achieved.

Scalability
Advancer Kilobatch is the only system for kilogram scale-up of all microwave reactions. Chemistry can be directly scaled up from the Initiator platform using exactly the same reaction conditions.

The Advancer Kilobatch is specifically designed so that methods developed in Biotage lab-scale systems can be safely and predictably transferred to a larger scale without re-optimization. Advancer Kilobatch Scale-Up Diagram B

Hetero- and Homogeneous Reactions
The Advancer Kilobatch supports both homogeneous reactions and the use of solid reagents, catalysts and crystallizing products found in heterogenous reactions.

Solid Loading Arm   Solid loading
The solid loading mechanism of the Advancer Kilobatch allows four cycles of solid loads for every reaction batch. All solid chemicals are kept under inert atmosphere during these runs to insure cycle-to-cycle reproducibility.

Flash (adiabatic) cooling evacuation
Adiabatic cooling rapidly evacuates the pressurized reaction vessel after each synthesis cycle. This flash cooling technique quickly quenches the reaction for better control sending the actively cooled reaction to the collection vessel and avoids the use of problem prone pumping of solutions.

Reproducibility
Exact temperature and pressure measurement, solid and liquid loading along with powerful stirring, and inert atmosphere conditions ensure reproducible results from cycle-to-cycle. Experimental data proves scale-up reproducibility from the Initiator gram-scale for each cycle within a batch and for consecutive batches.

Safety
A five-tiered safety system incorporates software and hardware interlocks, relief valves, pressure calibrated rupture disc and spring loaded cavity lid. The Advancer is completely self-contained protecting the end-user from any exposure.

Reliability
Designed and built according to Swedish quality standards, each component is verified and validated in a thorough testing program to ensure highest possible reliability.

Ease of use
The Advancer Kilobatch software is intuitively easy to operate and the hardware requires minimal interaction. Operation can be learned in minutes.
