Biotage is a global supplier of scientific instrumentation and associated consumable products for medicinal chemistry research. Our goal is to profitably develop, produce, market and sell innovative systems that improve our customers’ productivity and efficiency in chemistry development and discovery.

We seek an experienced Buyer to serve as a point of contact for local purchasing needs.

Job Summary
Responsible for identifying and meeting local purchasing needs through local vendor selection and management. Evaluates suppliers to negotiate arrangements for obtaining materials and services that are strategically sourced. Manages relationships with vendors. Works with manufacturing to ensure timely delivery of material while managing a minimal inventory of raw material.


Qualifications
• Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required
• 3-5 years experience preferred in purchasing, negotiation and vendor management
• Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to read technical, “CAD” drawings and communicate technical details between vendors and internal technical resources very helpful.
