Crash Your Proteins in Three Steps

ISOLUTE® PLD+ plates provide extremely efficient removal of proteins and phospholipids from plasma samples using a simple 3 step procedure.

 

Recommended operating procedure for ISOLUTE® PLD+ Protein and Phospholipid Depletion Plates:

  1. Dispense crash solvent (typically acetonitrile).
  2. Dispense plasma. Wait 5 minutes.
  3. Apply vacuum or positive pressure for 5 minutes or until sample is fully eluted.

If insufficient mixing occurs on sample addition, proteins will not precipitate efficiently in the well. This can lead to turbidity (cloudiness) in extracts or well blockage during processing. For maximum phospholipid removal, do not exceed the vacuum/pressure conditions. For very viscous samples, a slight increase in pressure or vacuum may be required. The use of high vacuum/pressure conditions may lead to breakthrough of matrix components.
