Systems Engineer, Uppsala, Sweden

The overall responsibility for this role is to ensure product quality and efficiency in the instrument development by introducing early integration and verification. You will also define and analyze technical requirements, plan and perform testing and verification, perform technical investigations and drive minor projects.

You will work closely with our mechanical, electronic, firmware and software developers within the Product Development projects.

The Systems Engineer reports to the Integration & Verification Manager and is based at Biotage Headquarters in Uppsala, Sweden.

Job scope outline

  • Define and execute integration and verification plans within our projects
  • Define and analyze technical requirements
  • Introduce early integration and testing by influencing and providing guidance in planning and design work
  • Perform technical investigations and propose solutions, within product care
  • Use your creativity and technical skills to develop the ways we do instrument development 

Education and Experience

  • Minimum Bachelor degree in Engineering or similar education level.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Systems Engineering and/or working with test and verification of integrated mechatronic systems.

Desired skills

  • Experience from development of integrated hardware and software systems
  • Proven experience of integrated system and sub-system testing
  • Experience with requirement management
  • A reliable team player with strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience from integration driven development
  • Fluent in English, written and verbally
  • Knowledge about safety standards and regulations (e.g Low Voltage Directive, LVD and Machinery Directive,  MD) applicable for laboratory equipment
