Celite* cartridges are filled with inert diatomaceous earth optimized for smooth flow-through filtration. They trap catalysts such as insoluble metal oxides and Pd/C, delivering clean filtrates for subsequent processing. By retaining catalysts inside a closed cartridge, they improve safety and reduce cross-contamination, common problems with open filtration methods like sintered funnels.
