Vapor shield for Biotage® Horizon 5000 disk extraction system

Introduction

Safety is always a prime consideration in a laboratory. While working with organic solvents and samples that may contain harmful analytes, it makes sense to shield the operator from hazardous conditions whenever possible. The Biotage® Horizon 5000 extraction system uses organic solvents such as dichloromethane, hexane and methanol and vapours are vented through the back of the instrument to a convenient hood or exhaust mechanism. Some laboratories choose to place their extractors in the hood for further safe venting of the solvent vapours.
