    Pacific® Sodium Sulfate Drying Cartridges

Pacific® Sodium Sulfate Drying Cartridges offer convenient in-line drying for Oil & Grease extracts prepared using Pacific® O&G extraction disks on the automated Biotage® Horizon 3100 Oil & Grease Extractor. They consist of 5.5 g of high purity sodium sulfate in a cartridge that is connected to the outlet of the Horizon 3100 extraction system check valve to enable fully automated in-line drying of the extract.

EPA Method 1664B compliant drying of O&G extracts

EPA Method 1664B is a technique used to determine fats, oils and grease (FOG) contamination found in our water and is a critical test for monitoring and maintaining the infrastructure of our sewage and water treatment facilities. It is based on hexane extraction of aqueous samples to measure the level of hexane extractable material (HEM) such as fats, oils and grease present in wastewater samples. Once the water sample is extracted, any residual water must be removed from the hexane prior to evaporation and gravimetric analysis. Sodium sulfate is a commonly used drying agent used in this process since its use complies fully with EPA Method 1664B requirements.
