Field service engineer is responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair of Biotage’s complete product range. Ensuring that our customers are able to utilize our systems fully and have a positive experience with Biotage. You will be a part of an international team spread out across Europe with Headquarter in Uppsala, Sweden. You will primarily be responsible for the Spanish speaking area of the EU and you will be our brand ambassador. The role is field based working from a home office. There is the possibility to become a product expert by close collaboration with Biotage R&D and our Product Managers.

 JOB DUTIES
The daily duties will include:

• Collaborating with our 1-Point support team based in Uppsala, you will be responsible for the efficient planning and scheduling of your daily tasks.
• The installation, commissioning, maintenance and servicing of Biotage’s complete product range.
• Conducting customer training on the safe operation of our instruments.
• Help develop service support by working closely with regional account managers, service sales and the field service manager.
• Assist on technical escalations and identify opportunities for new business.
• Administration of your work orders, reports to customers and stock control.
• Travel is mainly in Spain. Some travel to other regions may be required.

REQUIREMENTS

• Technical understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Servicing experience of laboratory equipment as either a field service engineer or a lab technician preferred but not essential.
• Knowledge of Analytical or Organic Chemistry.
• Fluent in Spanish and English, written and verbally. French language would be an advantage.
• The ability to communicate effectively with both your customers and colleagues, especially in situations with high levels of emotion.
• Able to perform work alone.
• Good organizational skills. Being able to plan your work in an efficient way.
• Team player with strong personal skills.
• Willing and able to travel internationally.
• Driving license.
• Commercial experience within service or sales and/or marketing is a plus.
